East End Community Field Day
With Peter Paul Development Center
Old friends and new stopped by our cyanotype booth during Peter Paul's Field Day festivities. Using digital negatives and plant life from East End Cemetery, families created sun-printed quilt squares and helped design patterns for our community quilt celebrating the history of Richmond’s East End. Sound like something you'd like to try? Find out more here: East End Quilt Collective.

Sam Page, a recent graduate of the Theatre for Social Change program at Emory & Henry College, has been serving as our Instructor in Residence this summer. Sam quickly put his theater background to use at Oakwood, assisting with stage direction and props for Peter Paul's "Ms. Sweet Lady" play. He has also assisted with our community workshops, worked with students at our events around the city, and has been facilitating community participation in our East End Quilt Collective Project.
