CREATIVITY KITS
In collaboration with the RPS community engagement team, Oakwood Arts and VisArts partnered together to assemble and design Creativity Kits to give to students and families at local RPS food distribution sites. Each Creativity Kit included art supplies and a set of K-5 and teen art lessons designed to help students remain connected to the RPS curriculum and engaged with the visual arts at home.
By teaming up with local artists and educators, we provided nearly 4,000 Creativity Kits to students. Each weekly Creativity Kit contained lessons related to specific Virginia Standards of Learning and highlighted different creative careers and contemporary artists.
