March 31st - April 4th, 2025
10 AM - 3 PM
3511 P St. Richmond, VA 23223
During this camp students will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking, from composition, framing, lighting, and camera movements, to the jobs of various industry roles on and off a set. The program will also feature emerging filmmakers who will provide mentorship and inspiration. By fostering creativity and technical knowledge, this camp aims to prepare young artists for future careers in media production.
Mise-en-scène is a French term meaning “everything arranged in the shot”. This fun and interactive class will give participants the vocabulary and the opportunity to explore all of the elements of Mise-en-scène through hands-on activities partnered with collaborative learning. Additionally, this will introduce students to the techniques that are used in filmmaking such as composition, framing, lighting, and camera movements, and to jobs in the industry that make all of the movie magic happen. Established and emerging filmmakers will also be joining the class as guest artists, to share their vision and give valuable advice to inspire our future artists and media makers.
