“DID ANYBODY ASK US ?” (DOCUMENTARY)

Directed By Chip Jackson and The F.A.M.M. Project, 2016

"Did Anybody Ask Us?” which was directed By Chip Jackson and The F.A.M.M. Project in 2016, aimed to give a voice to teens (all students from Hampton and Newport News City Schools); who came together to tell a story of their America. By asking questions, looking for answers, and working towards solutions the film creates a dialogue centered around what the teens felt were (are) the most pressing issues in our country.

.F.A.M.M Project

The F.A.M.M. Project was founded in 2016 by Tristan “Chip” Jackson and a group of motivated videographers and producers who had been engaged in grassroots video production for more than ten years.  Chip and FAMM’s Co-Founder the late Charles "Max" Sharpe, recognized that street video production was attractive to youth, yet was having negative impacts in their communities by promoting violence and crime. They joined together to turn the tables for their own lives and others’ to become positive change-makers by creating a workshop-style program that aimed to teach participants usable trades and skillsets in the field of film & media.

In 2020 Chip began serving as the new Director of Workforce Innovation at Oakwood Arts, he is now leading the expansion of our workforce development in creative industries program for high-school students and recent graduates, beginning integrating FAMM (now Future Artists & Media Makers) into OA’s fold.
